7:00 pm (meeting started 7:06 ended 8:30) Item 1: Det. Eldon Oliver –SLPD Burglaries have increased dramatically recently. Be aware. One outreach team continues to engage homeless camps on the JR Parkway. The SL County wide # for homeless issues is 801 990 9999 Item 2: Andrew Johnston –City Council Dist. 2 Rio Grande Homeless shelter decommissioned this week. Currently about 2,000 unsheltered per night – adequate beds are now available CIT trained officers should be requested when there is a mental health issue. Affordable housing: Andrew supports inclusionary zoning as incentive for more units. Item 3: Josh Rebollo –Mayor’s Office City has 2 surveys out currently; Encouraged use of the SLC Mobile app. 2020 Census still hiring –see flyer ‐Waste Services ‐Draft Ordinance on scooters Item 4: Ayana Amaechi –AIRU Project They are looking for volunteers to host air quality monitors in Glendale. ‐10 min to install and requires 5V power and WiFi. Item 5: Dan Potts –Oxbow Nature Preserve/Wetland area status Dan explained why this natural area needs restoration work to make it less a ‘people park’ and more a ‘nature park.' A Capital Improvement Plan Grant application was submitted for this but will be retracted and resubmitted. Item 6: Recruitment for upcoming vacant board positions 3 positions are open for the next election in January. Discussion showed importance on outreach to Polynesian and Hispanic communities. Announcements Town Hall meeting for Hispanic community on Dec 5 at Glendale Library. Glendale Middle School hosting a Thanksgiving meal on Saturday Nov. 23 from 11:00 am to 2:00 om.
